Some things start with a recipe. Ours started with love.

When my parents moved in with my husband and me, the house got fuller — and so did the kitchen. I had already been making soaps and candles for years, drawn to natural ingredients, clean skincare, and the beauty of handmade things. So when Mom arrived, it felt natural to share that world with her.

What started as a way to keep her busy quickly became something much more meaningful — afternoons spent together testing recipes, comparing scents, laughing over batches that didn’t quite work out. We made soaps for ourselves, for family, for anyone who would try them. And the more we made, the more we realized: these actually work. Really well.

That’s when I made it official. What had been a labor of love became Mendez Craft House — a family business rooted in quality, authenticity, and the belief that what you put on your skin should be as natural as possible.

Every bar of soap, every candle, every resin piece is still handcrafted in small batches in Minneapolis, Minnesota — with the same care and intention that started it all.

No harsh chemicals. No shortcuts. Just handmade, with love.
